Description

AV Dummy (short for Audiovisual Dummy) are both a product and reaction to the world they’re living in. A band weary of the internet and social media, yet formed on those very platforms.

AV Dummy began with rapper BUCHANAN and producer/composer Christy Carey bonding online, sharing a mutual dissatisfaction with not just bland, unchallenging music made to conform to algorithmic preferences and pre-existing biases, but also with cultural conformity in general.

Working across different cities, their working process is a burst of creative energy expressed through voice memos, phone calls, text messages, and sporadic recording sessions - a feeling that translates to their erratic sonic compositions. Now taking form as a full band, they are joined by Jerome Johnson on drums and Sat Chatterji on bass.
