I$O (pronounced I-so) is primarily a hip-hop/rap artist who occasionally delves into pop music. Born & raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I$O finds inspiration in bringing attention to his hometown on a national scale. Being the oldest of 4, he grew up on the north side of Grand Rapids, with his dad & one of his younger brothers. Sports (primarily football and basketball) were & will always be a big part of his family. I$O didn’t pick up a pen and start writing songs until he was 17. Nobody in his family had any kind of musical talent that he knew of, so looking back, he says music for him feels a bit random. He used writing as a way of expressing his thoughts when his dad got sick. After years of dedication and practice he is capturing his true potential and artistry.
