Description

This channel is home to lectures on a variety of philosophical subjects, focusing on ontology. My central concern is philosophical realism vs. the range of false but common alternatives, from nominalism and materialism to critical theory. Music was an early, driving interest, and when I turned to philosophy in 2012 it naturally became the subject of my dissertation, published in 2017 as "The Sound of Ontology: Music as a Model for Metaphysics" (Lexington Books). Since earning a PhD in Philosophy, Art and Critical Thought from European Graduate School in 2017, I have worked at an ongoing, multi-volume project called "The World is Real and You are Free," from which these lectures derive. From time to time, under the playlists tab, I will post lectures by others.
