The Morningside Academy for Design (MAD) is an interdisciplinary hub celebrating the power of design at MIT. We foster innovation, empower individuals, & reshape the way we learn, weaving in science, engineering, architecture & planning, humanities, & business, to create an environment where design catalyzes change.

LEARNING. Design initiatives create transformative experiences for learners. We foster creativity, critical thinking, making, & collaboration, preparing students for real-world challenges.

INNOVATION. Innovation thrives at the intersection of design & diverse fields. We interweave design w/ engineering, biology, urban studies, arts, health, governance, architecture… to drive solutions & generate impact through projects.

EMPOWERMENT. We inspire individuals to embrace making & design as catalysts for positive change. Our open & vibrant design community collaborate on local/global challenges through projects, fellowships, public initiatives, & participate in design events.
