Jesus has many who love his kingdom in heaven, but few who bear his cross. He has many who desire comfort, but few who desire suffering. They who love Jesus for His own sake, and not for the sake of the comfort for themselves, bless Him in every trial and anguish of heart, no less than in the greatest joy. And were He never willing to bestow comfort on them, they would still always praise Him and give Him thanks. If you seek Him in all things, you will surely find Him. And if you seek yourself, you will surely find yourself, but only to your ruin. Love Him, therefore, and keep Him as your friend; for when all others desert you, He will not abandon you, nor allow you to perish at the last. Whether you wish it or not, you must in the end be parted from them all.. Life passes, Riches fly away, Popularity is fickle, The senses decay, The World changes. One alone is true to us: One alone can be all things to us; One alone can supply all our need. One alone is God
