My Mission:
For many years I have enjoyed researching and discovering early military and native American Indian camps in northeast Kansas from the 1830's-1850's. These artifacts tell a wonderful story of our culture here in the Kansas City area. As an avocational archaeologist or "citizen scientists" I have conducted hundreds of metal detecting surveys resulting in the discovery of more than 65 early military camps and native American Indian camp sites that have never been discovered before. All artifacts are found on private property and with landowners permissions. I feel it is incredibly important to document these sites and preserve the artifacts, also I believe the collection should never be sold or separated because I feel the provenance and history would be lost forever.
