Hello and welcome. If you’re new to the channel, my name is James Ker-Lindsay and here I take an informed look at international relations, conflict, security, and statehood.

By way of background, I hold a PhD in International Conflict Analysis and have published over a dozen books on ethnic conflicts and territorial disputes, including "Secession and State Creation: What Everyone Needs to Know" (Oxford University Press). I was also a Senior Research Fellow and then Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics (2008-2024).

Join me each week for an in-depth look at history, law, economics, and politics as I explore some of the most difficult and destabilising issues from around the world.
