Mondo Gascaro, is a half Japanese-Indonesian composer, singer-songwriter, and producer. Born in Jakarta, Mondo received his musical exposure early in childhood. From regularly attending the traditional Javanese shadow puppet plays to spending time listening to his grandmother playing “Bengawan Solo” on the piano.
He was known to some as the former member of the band SORE (from which he resigned in 2012). As a film composer, his works include "Love for Share" (2006), “Forbidden Door” (2009), "Hello Goodbye" (2012) and most recently “Memories of My Body” by Garin Nugroho (2018). Some of his works as a producer are "Payung Teduh" - Dunia Batas (Ivy League Music, 2012); Noh Salleh - Angin Kencang (2014)
Mondo’s debut album RAJAKELANA was released in 2016 and had good reviews in many top publications, including being voted as 2016 album of the year by TEMPO Magazine (Indonesia’s prestigious magazine). The album was also released in Japan in CD (2017) and double LP Vinyl (2018).
