For 130 years, the Tabernacle Baptist Church has been an essential part of the Petersburg Community. Originating in an old framed house at 427 Jones Street, Tabernacle, like the Old Ship of Zion, has emerged as a spiritual haven for “many a thousand”. Tabernacle was founded as a “holy hill” of God in 1890 and has been a beacon light in the historic City of Petersburg. Our church is a “Concerned Church for ALL People,” and ours is a holistic approach to ministry; offering a broad range of religious programs for people of all ages.
