Headed by Chris, a PhD in Communication Studies (who wrote his dissertation on the Resident Evil series!), Makopowered Gaming brings a critical eye to not just popular and classic games, but interesting failures with potential. While Chris has a PhD, the videos are made to be as accessible as possible for anyone interested in video games, critique, analysis, or media in general.

In the flagship series, Weekend Rental, we examine games which offer interesting ideas, even if those ideas aren't necessarily realized. This series looks at these games in terms of narrative, audio/visuals, and gameplay mechanics, as well as their respective places in the broader pop culture landscape.

The companion series, Video Game Errata, is an effort to preserve video game demo videos, promotion videos, and the like from media like old demo discs and VHS tapes. It's our small part towards preserving video game history in all its weird, awkward, bombastic glory.
