Though there may be some superficial similarities between 20-year-old KOHNCEPT and other well-known artists, it's pretty clear that his style cannot be confined or simplified by such all-encompassing comparisons. From writing his own music to producing his own videos, many of which have already received thousands of hits via youtube, KOHNCEPT is taking a passion for hip-hop music that sparked when he was just ten and turning it into a movement of originality that is lacking in today's hip-hop scene.
"I had a vision that I could eventually change the world by using music," says KOHNCEPT when asked about his beginnings. Not caught up in the problems of image and self-indulgence that plague many rappers hoping to break into the world of established artists, KOHNCEPT relies on being himself when making his music and in this way his music speaks for itself.
