Description
folkpunk began in southern New England in the late 1970s as a style of original garage band jams. Many different names were tried for the bands playing the style that evolved out of that Rhode Island garage, but by the early 80s, "folkpunk" became the standard moniker for performers of the, by then, dormitory and bedroom, jams and DIY recordings. When the cassette tapes, and even some of the later home recorded CDs of those past 50 years began to wear out by the 2020s, the folkpunk back catalogue which had been sitting in the vault, was put into videos and posted here using Youtube as a free, and hopefully lasting, "cloud" storage of the material.
To complete and utter amazement, songs were heard by some, and enjoyed! I really can't believe that this Anthogy (an anthology of original folkpunk anthems) has attracted listeners other than myself, when I wasn't even trying to be "fishing for ears" (as Ryan Montbleau would say). Thank you so kindly for checking out the folkpunk!!!
